Women who currently own and lead businesses and startups across Australia are being asked to identify the challenges and opportunities facing them as female founders.

A survey has been put together to gather opinions, in the hope that the responses will help to shape new policies that will remove barriers and facilitate a better environment to foster female entrepreneurship.

Bilson said: “Ninety-seven (97) per cent of women-owned and led businesses in Australia are small businesses, and small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy”.

“Research has found that boosting the number of women entrepreneurs could contribute between $71–135 billion to the Australian economy and up to $7 trillion globally.

“I encourage women business owners and operators to complete this survey so we can harness opportunities and look at how to address any needless headwinds or obstacles to their success.”

Mandy Sigaloff, Managing Director of TaxAssist Accountants in Australia, is herself no stranger to entrepreneurship, being listed as ‘business woman of the year’ in 2012, by online publication Dynamic Business.

Mandy is a board member of ‘Heads Over Heals’ that supports Australian female entrepreneurs through game changing connections, as well as her main role, to drive the expansion of TaxAssist Accountants across Australia.

“I’d encourage any women in leadership roles or who run their own business to complete the survey, as it will help generate a wider discussion about what more can be done to help women to achieve their goals,” said Mandy.

The confidential survey is open until 19 October, 2021.

It can be accessed by visiting the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman website at www.asbfeo.gov.au or directly at: WOWL survey
